Malama by Lupicia Hawaii

Smells wonderful like a nutty-chocolaty snack mix. Steeps quickly. The scent actually intensifies while steeping which is rare in bagged teas. I received this in a tea swap. I'm very excited to try it and I am just finishing the steep while I am typing this. Color is a rich brown. You can certainly taste the nutty flavor with the black tea and a hint of chocolate! FAB! Delightful Cup!

The above is what I put on my Steepster Log. I want to thank Fran for the lovely card and tea for this month's tea swap. I was completely blown away!!! The tea is Malama by Lupicia Hawaii. You can read more about it as well as see pictures of the card and tea on her blog which is located here.

According to their website:

Malama and Palekaiko are two of Hawaii’s best selling original blends developed specifically and exclusively for our Honolulu store. These blends capture the essence of the islands and allow you to take the spirit of aloha with you and recapture your island experience each time you brew a cup of this fragrant and exotic tea. Take a break from winter with LUPICIA Hawaii Original Tea Blends. The flavor of island fruits and spicy ginger will momentarily whisk you away to the tropics while aromatic chocolate and roasted macadamia nuts offer a warm oasis on a cold winter night.

I've had some Lupicia teas and enjoyed them, but not this one. Sounds nice!

At first I thought this was another company I hadn't heard of selling tea grown in Hawaii. But then I realized they're blends with the tea grown somewhere in the East and the rest of the product from Hawaii. It'd be nice to see them grow and process the tea leaves here in America too. --Jason
