Your tea trees are getting bigger

Just a quick update from us about your freshly planted Camellias. They have officially graduated from the indoor nursery garden and have now joined the outdoor 'grown up' garden. As evident from the photos, the trees are coming in very nicely thanks to the great weather that the region has been having.

Friends and family feeling left out? Don't worry, soon you'll be able to share your tree. More info coming next week.

Assam Tea is famous for its lush flavor and golden color. Rich brown leaves with golden tips yield a distinguished multi-layered “malty” flavor. We have chosen a traditional, orthodox full leaf tea. Full bodied, deep gold in color, Assam tea is the perfect breakfast tea. The oldest tea growing region of Assam in NE India has low, rolling hills creating a great environment for rich tea. Hot days combined with cool nights bring out the fullest flavor.

My Findings...

Bagged but bold!

This is a creamy malty not an overly-bold or strong manly malty. It’s still of good strength so we will go with a medium strength bold and malty description. It ‘brews’ quickly and is rather good.

Blood Orange Tea from Boston Tea Co

Recently I have been tasting several interesting teas from Boston Tea Co. This review is on their Blood Orange Tea...

WOW! These ingredients are SUPER SIZED!!!!! Everything is magnified!

After steep is complete…I can smell the Hibiscus first, then apple, then blood orange.

The color is a pinkish-red.

I can taste hibiscus…but then it changes to Blood Orange. VERY MUCH Blood Orange. Now…I am a blood orange FAN to EAT them…but in tea I wasn’t so sure. I like it paired with black tea but straight up!? Not so much. Whereas this isn’t bad I don’t know if I would buy it based on my herbal/hibiscus general dislike. BUT – it DOES taste like Blood Orange so I can’t say it’s anything that it isn’t. I’m trying to keep that in mind while reviewing.

I'm going to try this ICED very soon. I think I will like it better iced. I have TONS of other teas on tap so please check back!

Rishi Tea invites you to a very special Japanese tea ceremony, known as Sencha-do, taking place June 11th – June 13th at 11:45am, 2pm and 3:30pm in Booth # 401. Mr. Yoshikura, a master of Sencha-do from the Obaku Kofu Ryu established in 1959, will lead the ceremonies and demonstrate the way of four green teas including Gyokuro (Secret Garden), cold-brew Sencha, hot-brew Sencha and Bancha. Each session will feature one tea and last 40 minutes and are open to all on a first come, first served basis.

Cha No Yu, the Japanese tea ceremony using Matcha powdered green tea is known to many, but few outside of Japan are familiar with the ceremony for loose leaf tea called Sencha-do.

Sencha-do or “the way of Sencha,” became widespread in Japan during the 19th Century. Sencha-do became a non-political and less formal means for Japanese intelligentsia to rebel against the hierarchy and politics surrounding "Cha No Yu" powdered tea ceremony of the era. Sencha-do is inspired by the reclusive ancient Chinese tea sages and intellectuals that used tea as a social and more spiritual way to enjoy loose leaf tea to get away from the daily grind and enjoy life.

As with Chinese Gong Fu Cha, there are specific brewing methods and etiquette for Sencha-do ceremony, which include unique teaware and distinct pouring methods. Sencha-do schools and tea instructors practice unique brewing techniques and tea concepts specific to Sencha, Gyokuro and other Japanese green tea. Tea lovers and baristas can learn the brewing techniques that are unique to loose leaf Sencha and green teas by taking part in Rishi Tea’s Sencha-do Ceremony.

In addition to the scheduled Sencha-do classes, Joshua Kaiser, along with visiting tea experts, will lead focused tastings of 2010 Fresh Crop Teas from Japan, Taiwan, China, etc. These tastings will be held at various times throughout the weekend in Booth # 401. Guests are welcome to join and share with us some of this year’s most exciting new teas, fresh from origin!

Lastly, join Joshua for a presentation on the foundation and strong points of Rishi Tea and its unique organic supply chain, taking place Saturday, June 12th at 12:30pm on the show floor of the World Tea Expo in the Vendor Presentation Theater.

Snowflake by Georgia Tea Company

DO YOU LIKE COCONUT?

Well, if you do you are going to want to check out this tea! It’s called SNOWFLAKE and it’s from Georgia Tea Company. Their customer service is wonderful! They have a great selection of teas to fit any palate and they are very reasonably priced!

SNOWFLAKE is a flavored Black Tea…with coconut, almond and vanilla flavoring. Georgia Tea Company says it’s A Christmas favorite and is Great with sugar and cream! I, however, drink ALL of my tea plain.

There’s just something about these Georgia Tea Company Teas and the way they smell that I just can’t get past! The aroma is INTENSE and I LOVE it!!!! It smells of Coconut, Almond, and Vanilla and just in that order. I can clearly see those ingredients in the mix as well! I’ve been trying to think of which Christmas Cookie this remind me of…there’s ISN’T a chocolate scent to it but fairly cookie-like. It’s a medium strength flavored black tea with a perfect amount of those ingredients throughout!

If you can’t have a cookie…have this tea! It’s truly unique and YUMMY!

Manhattan Tribute Blend Helps Fight Cancer!

In the ongoing fight to conquer cancer, 10% of proceeds from the sale of Mark T. Wendell's Manhattan Tribute Blend will be donated to the Cancer Research Institute. Every time a Tea Company supports a cause I ALWAYS try and mention! It's certainly a PLUS when the tea, at hand, is terrific...or should I say TEA-riffic!

The first time I tried this tea I thought I picked up on a floral or maybe even a slight pine scent. I would consider this a medium to medium strong black tea and would be safe to say it would be a great addition to any Black Tea Lovers stash! The 2nd time I tried this tea - which was today - I was picking up a more semi-malty/semi-chewy type taste. Regardless this is a nice cup!

Elise E. Scott, Chief Leaf of Pearl Fine Teas, Anthony K. Sudler, President & Chief Executive Officer and Tammy Reardon, Corporate Assistance Director for Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area Chapter have been collaborating for over a year to make this event happen.

"When Anthony and Tammy approached me last spring with the idea to partner, I knew immediately I wanted in," said Ms. Scott. "The cause is very personal for me given that my maternal grandmother suffered from dementia and Alzheimer's."

"The Women and Alzheimer's Initiative will be bolstered by having Pearl Fine Teas as our official tea vendor. The teas will be promoted to our members, families and persons with Alzheimer's as a naturally healthy and soothing beverage for women", said Mr. Sudler.

Three unique tea blends were created exclusively for the Woman's Initiative - The Evelyn (a rooibos, black tea blend), The Beatrice (a caffeine-free herbal blend) and The KarenSue (a green tea blend that can be used over ice or in cocktails). The tea blends will be available for sale at the Luncheon and eventually sold though the web. Additionally, 25% of the proceeds will be given back to the Association.

These special tea blends were named after Ms. Scott's and Ms. Reardon's grandmothers and KarenSue Zimmerman. Ms. Zimmerman currently works with the organization and has been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's.

"I spent a year reading research and information on teas, fruits and herbal combinations that could contribute to patient's health. The health benefits of Green tea which contains many antioxidants, including those known as flavonoids, may protect against damage to the brain caused by charged particles called free radicals. We know there is no cure for Alzheimer's, but tea could potentially be another weapon to treat this disease and slow down its development. It's also beneficial for caregivers who absorb a lot of the stress," said Ms. Scott. "I'm excited to partner with the organization and do what I can to help fight the disease."

The Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area Chapter is inviting women who care about Alzheimer's and its impact on women and their families to "Get Engaged!" Imperial Tea Garden - In General

Recently I stumbled upon the Imperial Tea Garden Website. A nice user-friendly website with a good selection of teas and quite a bit of tea information and education! I decided to drop them an email to tell them that I enjoyed my visit on their site and their customer service was great! They responded to email very quickly and today I received some samples in the mail! I have at least 6 reviews on different teas of theirs coming up soon! I thought I would give you a heads-up!

In addition, my tea adventures have been very exciting lately! And I haven't even had to leave my keyboard! The internet is the BEST thing for Tea Nerds, isn't it!? Seriously!

I have also been in contact with a few more website about writing and reviewing opportunities and I will certainly cross promote my tea happenings here! So stay tuned!!

I mentioned a while back that my main blog is actually a craft blog and I belong to a few Design Teams for Digital Stamps, Crafting Communities, and Scrapbooking type adventures. Here is an altered Notebook I made with this set from LSS available at MyGraficO.com...specifically for MY Tea Swaps and Tea Buddies!

This is also an attempt to get myself a little more organized and keep all of my tea swapping info all in one place!

I think it's GREAT that more and more Digital Stamp Companies are coming out with more and more tea items. I'm also currently in the process of starting a Tea Album and Tea Collage Album...hope to have more pictures and info on that in the next few weeks!

I don't know why...but I actually ended up sampling this tea FIRST...and forgot it in my post yesterday.

So...here we go with the review on The Jade Teapot's Starry Night...again, I am cross promoting my reviews from my Steepster Log...

I received 6 samples today…this is my first attempt. I DID have 1 star in mine. I have enough for 2 cups so I am starting out with the star in the first cup! I don’t think it smells like vanilla as others have mentioned. Mine seems to be a more wet-wood smell with something Unidentifiable. BUT…it does TASTE like vanilla. I can also taste the black tea and a hint of the white, I suppose, but barely there, really. It’s dark brown in color and a very even taste. I like it just fine. I would probably put this in my stash for stand-bye’s – if I had more than 1 cup left. Yup! This is pretty good.

By contrast, the films used for Arbor Teas’ new packaging are backyard compostable. Because of greater variation in moisture and temperature, backyard composting environments have historically been incapable of breaking down so-called “compostable” packaging materials. However, the material chosen for Arbor Teas’ new packages requires a less optimized environment for biodegradation, representing a major advancement in low-impact packaging. The film is certified to both the European (EN13432) and American (ASTM D6400) standards for compostable packaging, and has been submitted to an additional independent test protocol (Miti Test ISO14851) confirming its biodegradation at ambient temperatures and in aqueous environments, relevant for home composting in bins or compost heaps.

Not only are the new packages compostable, but they’re also lighter than their predecessors, reducing the weight of Arbor Teas’ packaging by 60%! This translates to a meaningful reduction in the carbon footprint of the Arbor Teas operation. And, in response to customer requests, the new packaging accommodates more tea than before. On average, Arbor Teas packages contain 28% more tea. The result: MORE TEA, LESS PACKAGING! Previously, Arbor Teas packed its teas in a recyclable, parchment-lined paperboard canister and in a biodegradable kraft bag.

WHAT EXACTLY IS TEA?
The word “tea” is commonly used in reference to almost any botanical ingredient infused in hot water, and with the continued popularity of herbal infusions (such as chamomile, peppermint, rooibos, yerba mate, etc.) in today’s marketplace, a whole gamut of brews are now referred to as such. 2 Teas From The Jade Teapot

Recently there was a FREE Sample Offer on The Jade Teapot Website. Of course I took advantage of it...

I have never tried their teas prior to these free samples so I am VERY grateful! The internet is a wonderful thing if you are a TEA FREAK!!!

The 2 teas I reviewed on my Tea Log over at Steepster Recently were their Cranberry Cobbler (Flavored Black) and their Strawberry Seduction which is a flavored white...and here are the reviews...

Cranberry Cobbler...

This is a Medium Brown in color and lightly scented cranberry black flavored tea. After infusing the aroma almost disappears. Eventho this tea is quite tasty – I can’t really taste the black tea itself and I KNOW it’s because of the hibiscus. BUT…having said THAT…I still think it’s tasty! I’m drinking it hot but think it would be terrific iced. You can surely taste the Cranberry…I don’t know if I would call it Cranberry Cobbler because when I think COBBLER I think crumbly-cakey type thing in addition with the Cranberry but it’s moreso JUST a sweet Cranberry with no cookie/cake-like taste. But again, I must repeat, this IS tasty…and I keep point this out because I usually can’t stand stuff with Hibiscus in it. This is the way to use Hibiscus folks…

Strawberry Seduction...

I remember smelling some ‘funky’ cucumber from Adagio a while back and I know I wasn’t the only one who had that funkiness! Anyhow…at first sniff this reminded me of it…almost like a vinegar stench. As it infused it mellowed out, thankfully. BUT…my water wasn’t hot enough…so…I will have to try this one more than once…since I already infused I am still going to drink it…

Ah…heck…I decided to do it iced…pretty much there anyhow…

Strawberry comes thru after the infusion regardless of water temp, apparently. It’s light and pleasant and tasty. A very nice iced tea, indeed. I will try this hot someday but this is the COLD review. YUM

I'm interested in the other samples I received including an extra surprise of one of their new ones! Stay tuned for more reviews!

Maple Sugar Black Tea From Tea Guys

I have been wanting to try teas from TEA GUYS and that day has FINALLY come!!!! Thanks to a friend. The following is what I just added to my Steepster Log.

If you take the color of a lighter brewed coffee this coloring is comparable. I can smell the Maple before, during, and after infusing. It tastes like maple but not as sugary as I was assuming based on the name...but that's ok because I like it. You can still taste the Maple but you can also taste the black tea. Both the Black Tea AND the Maple are both bold and flavorful! I want to thank LiberTEAs for the opportunity to try this one too!

But I wanted to blog about some new stuff on my personal tea blog as well! I really like the TEA GUYS Website. It's clean and nice looking and seems very customer friendly. They have TONS of other teas I am interested in. For Black Flavors some that intrigue me are Key Lime Pie, Coconut Truffle, Chocolate Delight, Afternoon Apricot, Evening Escape...and that's just Black/Flavored Black! I LOVE it when tea companies think outside the box!

Their whites, greens, and other flavors look just as interesting! It looks like they sell retail and wholesale as well as custom packaging - which is very attractive from what I have seen so far.

I really hope to try more of their teas soon...and HOPEFULLY review them, too!

An Update From Sweet Leaf

A few posts ago I mentioned Haiti Relief Efforts from Sweet Leaf...since then I have been in contact with one of the girls at the company and she's updated me on their efforts and progress in their fundraiser - see below...

I just wanted to give everyone an update on the fundraiser. We're still collecting funds from some of the other businesses that participating, but in total, we'll have raised more than $6000 that can go to immediate use thanks to everyone's efforts. It was amazing to see everything come together so quickly - thank you all so much!!

The money basically fills three large vans or small planes full of food, water, and medical supplies, along with other miscellaneous needs. Here's one example of a van-load of supplies that Makarios put together:

300 diapers
120 bags of oatmeal
15 cases of water
240 pounds of salamis
228 pounds of powdered milk
20 containers of cooking oil
30 cans of beans
75 pounds of rice

Tis the season for Seasonal Teas! I also tried this one for the first time today but have enjoyed many Zhena’s teas prior to this one. The aroma of this tea is very festive…just like a holiday drink…almost like something with RUM in it. The taste is just as intriguing. It’s very different from anything I have ever tasted. Glad I bought a tin today.

1st Taste:
Rose. A Rose is a ROSE is a Rose...or is it? I can't help but think of Teavana's Rose Marzipan Delight that I fell in love with a few months ago and then found out it was discontinued. Some Rose Teas I have had seem really bitter so when I feel in love with Teavana's it was because they had that little bit of candied goodness to off set the bitterness. Well, take out the Candied goodness and THIS is what you have. Not that THAT is a bad thing. This tea is actually quite good. It's not bitter and the black tea and rose compliment each other very nicely. Thumbs up!
I gave it 86/100

2nd Try:
I'm finishing up my sample today...boo hiss...parting it such sweet sorrow! Anyhow...I like this tea...it's good! I am going to see how many more infusions I can get out of this last bit tho!
2nd Try/2nd Steep:
Okay...so it's not-so-hot with multiple infusions...I think I will stop at 2. Still yummy just quite a bit weaker.

Kashmiri Chai - Golden Moon

As many of you know I do NOT put anything in my tea...ever...including my chai (unless it's added by someone else ie a cafe/restaurant while purchasing). This is the first time I am trying this Chai and I must say I LOVE IT. It's lite and creamy with a little bit of spice. I have had Chai that are very spicy and over the top and know why people put cream or milk or soy equiv. in it but this doesn't need anything! It's a nice calming/relaxing blend that is very Creamy as is.

1st Try - This is the first time I have tried this tea thanks to MandyB. This tea is a wonderful rarity because the name ORANGE Dulce makes me think pure Orange Black Tea but it's very different because it's floral and sweet, too...it's not overly orange nor is it a BOLD Black Tea Flavor. It seems to be a nice happy medium of everything! Very Nice!
2nd Try- Yes, I think I like this tea a bit more than I thought I would because I was thinking ORANGE but with the other flavors it blends well and isn't as citrus-based as I thought it would be. Thumbs up!

Tippy Earl Grey

I received this as a free sample from Golden Moon last week. It has a wonderful aroma as you open the envelop. Different than other Earl Grey I have had from other companies. I really believe it's the Lavender addition. It's a nice touch and calms down the bergamot. The coloring of the steeped tea is lighter in color than other Earl Greys I have tried. I like the fact that it's a little different than other brands since Earl Grey has been done by just about everyone and their brother...so for that...I will give it a thumbs up. I will be drinking again...

Orange Chocolate - Dark

Orange Chocolate - Dark

This is one of my signature blends at Adagio. I created it because I LOVE Orange Chocolate. I'm originally from Buffalo, NY, and until I moved - I didn't realize most people have never heard of or tried Orange Chocolate before. Anyhow...Since this blend is made up of 3 black flavored teas I knew it wouldn't be a true Orange Chocolate so I added "dark" to the name. It's smells a lot like Orange Chocolate but I was correct in my assumption...it tastes more like a DARK Chocolate with a small hints of Orange. The cream is barely there - if at all - but that is by design. The after-steep scent you lose a little of the orange scent, too. I have noticed it's a very bold blend and I am certainly going to enjoy it more in the morning! Or when I need a pick-me-up! And I am glad that I ended up putting "Dark" because the more and more I sip it as I review it - it certainly reminiscent of DARK Chocolate...with a hint of orange. I'm liking it.

Coconut Pouchong From Golden Moon

The first Coconut Pouchong I tried was from SerendipiTea and LOVED it. When I received this (FREE) sample from Golden Moon in the mail today I was excited to try it. I am just finishing the steeping process as I type this. Dry leaves smelled nearly identical to those of the other brand I tried...almost pastry or cookie like. Very nice. However, as this steeps it loses a lot of that scent. It changes to a green tea with a hint of coconut scent. First sip was a great enjoyment. 2nd sip...just as pleasant. The scent and taste together remind me of just-rubbed-on Coconut Suntan Lotion smell. It's very light in color...next to no color, really. The taste is very even and smooth and brothy. It's not overly coconut and not overly green tea to taste...everything just seems right together!

I will soon be introduced to Golden Moon Tea...

I received a free sample bag of this in the mail today when RoT sent me their current catalog. LOVE the label for the tea but right off the bat there are 2 strikes or potential strike...Cinnamon AND Vanilla. Now...I am NOT saying I HATE them...but I don't usually go for them. I love Cinnamon just usually not in tea and I can take or leave vanilla in any setting or for any reason. BUT...I'm up for the challenge. It scent is unique - not what I expected. Pleasant yet surprising. It brews quickly into a reddish brown. More Cinnamon than Vanilla after the steep to the nose. I seriously think the Rooibos helped this blend quite a bit. The more I sip - the more I enjoy. Mind you, I also oversteeped. You can taste the cinnamon a bit more than the Vanilla but they blend well with the Rooibos into something satisfying and not overpowering.

Take frequent tea breaks this winter, and you may just get through it without a sniffle. Immunologists at Harvard University discovered that people who drank five cups of black tea a day for 2 weeks transformed their immune system T cells into "Hulk cells" that pumped out 10 times more cold and flu virus-fighting interferon than did the immune systems of those who didn't drink black tea. Green tea should work just as well. "Not just the common cold and flu, but food poisoning, infected cuts, athlete's foot-even diseases such as tuberculosis and malaria-are caused by germs that your body fights with interferon. We think the interferon boosts from tea may help prevent or lessen the severity of all these conditions," says Jack Bukowski, MD, PhD. While five cups a day may seem like a lot, he thinks fewer cups may still offer some valuable protection. "And the interferon link may explain tea's other health benefits, including its reported cancer-fighting power, since we already know that interferon slows the growth of tumor cells," says Bukowski.

A new study from Japan was published this week showing that green tea may help with stress. The study found that drinking green tea may reduce psychological stress by as much as 20 percent. In this study of 42,093 Japanese individuals, 6.6% suffered from psychological stress. In those individuals suffering from stress, green tea consumption improved psychological well-being.

I'm not a big Jasmine fan. Normally. This is the BEST Jasmine ANYTHING I have EVER had yet. It makes me ENJOY Jasmine. I never thought I would say that but it's true. Not that I will suddenly turn all Jasmine on your arses but this is good stuff right here. As soon as I opened the tin it was like I was in the center of Jasmineville. And instead of the Jasmine smelling of old lady perfume it was more of a natural Jasmine scent...truly unexpected. As I steeped the leaves/needles the scent lingered but was still true. After the steep it started to even out but was still quite strong. At this point I was a little worried that the Jasmine taste was going to be too over the top based on the aroma but it was just right. That taste was paired with a nice, soft sweetness which led me to a smirk or smile...this tea has proved me wrong and I don't mind! The BEST 2 parts was that it WASN'T bitter and that there wasn't a funky aftertaste. The only thing I disagree with is that the descriptions says a 'whisper of jasmine'...for me, it was more a SHOUT, but, it all worked out...to be a wonderful tea experience.

I admit it. I'm a Tea Nerd...a Tea Freak...I'm obsessed. Not only do I have this blog but I also log 99 percent of my tea experiences on Steepster.com - a great community for tea lovers.

I haven't had this tea in a while but I remember LOVING it. I was going back thru some of my notes on steepster and found the following comments...

Medium Black Colored Tea. Next to no scent once steeped. Average Black Tea taste with nifty raspberry and orange undertones. I still enjoy and like this tea for what it is...pleasant and not pushy.

Teavana described this tea on their website as the above but as you know we all have different tastes and interests. So below you will see what I have thought about it.

My First Attempt: It's Fruity and Fun to sniff, pale yet pretty in color. The taste is smooth but fun thanks to the fruit highlights. Green Tea Taste is more noticeable the longer you steep. I notice a hint of sugary taste as well. Creative Blend. Thumbs Up!
My Second Attempt: The Rhubarb and sencha tastes are really coming thru more. It's very nice...paired with the strawberry and raspberry. I find this to be a very delightful blend. Thanks Teavana!

Oh how I've missed this tea. It smells wonderful! Strong Blueberry Scent but when it comes to taste it's a strong black tea with blueberry highlights. NICE. I like it a lot! But I do think that the best part of this tea is the scent. AWESOME!

Adagio's Green Pekoe

This is from Adagio's Website. I LOVE Adagio! I've said it once and I will say it again...their customer service is AWESOME. They sent me a few free samples. This was one of them. It was great because 3 out of the 4 samples I receive I had yet to try. This Green Pekoe was a
Typical Green Tea type color, scent, etc...a tad bit on the sweet side for a Green tea and not much of an aftertaste which I appreciate. It's a little perfumy, grassy, but a nice cup! I like it!

Teatulia's Earl of Bengal Tea

I received this in the mail as a free sample. When I first opened the plastic wrapping it smelled reminiscent of dryer sheets but not in a bad way...it was a very clean and almost floral type smell. On 2nd sniff you could start smelling the tea a bit more. It steeps fairly quickly. The coloring is a dark brown - common for the black teas. The scent after steeping is also typical black tea type smell. The taste is very nice. It's a black tea, indeed, but with hints of other elements...just a tad of Bergamot and a bit peppery taste. It's really quite delightful! In addition, the website and blog are great and their causes are good ones! This seems to be one company that does things right! Thumbs up!

Dilmah English Afternoon Tea

I am unable to log into Steepster at the moment so I thought I would post this here to refer back to once I can post there again. I received this tea from a friend of mine in Norway...ANN...Thanks for the great envelop full of tea! I loved it! This is my first taste of Dilmah Tea and I must say I am enjoying it! The smell prior to steeping took me back to my first 5 years of life when my Grandma T first got me into TEA. Oddly enough...her husband (my grandfather)'s family was originally from Norway so this was so fitting that I received this from ANN over in Norge. Dilmah is a Sri Lanka company but have offices in several countries including USA and Norway. The coloring is very dark but the taste was a little bit on the lite side which was surprising based on the color and scent but still very pleasant and I enjoyed the cup VERY MUCH!

I am thinking about starting a TEA Scrapbook. Gives me more reason to scrapbook and craft as well as a way to keep the cards, tea bag envelopes, and other neat stuff I get from all over the world with this tea swap!

I received a Tea Forte Gift Sampler from my Parents. There were 6 different samples in the pack. I love the presentation of the Infusion Bags. Here are a few comments about the ones I have tried so far from my Tealog...

Raspberry Nectar -
Before steeping smells like a light Apple-Raspberry-Honey Blend. While Steeping it morphs into a typical raspberry herbal tea scent with a few undertones that are barely noticeable. Color is a Purplish-Pinkish Color. The longer you steep the more Orange Peel Scent you can smell and it pairs nicely with the Apple and Berries. I was a little afraid of this as the coloring and scent progressed as I am not usually into fruity herbals. It's probably one of the better fruity herbals I have tried so far. I don't think I would buy it in large quantities but I am glad I sampled it. I bet it would be better iced. A notch above average.

Belgian Mint -
Received in a sample gift set from my mother. Prior to steeping it smelled like mint, chocolate, and a woodsy type scent. After steeping it was more like a smoked cocoa mint but less woodsy than before the steep. The coloring is a light brown. The taste is slightly bitter but not bad. I think it's from the coco attempt which isn't well known while tasting but the mint is nice - again not over powering but moreso than the coco. There's a malty taste in there as well...can't quite put my finger on in...all-in-all it's a fair attempt at something different...I think I will give it a thumbs up.

Ambrosia White -
Prior to steeping this smells like flowers and coconut. The coloring is that of a darker white tea or maybe even looking more like a steeped Oolong (color wise). During and after steep you can smell the white tea scent more with a hint of coconut and earthy or floral smell. The taste is unique. It's sweet but flavorful eventho it's hard to pick out the different flavors as they blend perfectly with each other. The Coconut is NOT overpowering at all...what a delightful blend. I really like this. I wonder how it does on the resteep? Might have to try that later.

2nd Steep...
Sweet and Floral. Very Nice

Coco Truffle -
Prior to steep it smells like a chocolate/Hazelnut Coffee. The coloring is a medium brown and semi cloudy. After steeping it smells more like a plain nutty coffee/Tea blend. The packaging and Infusion presentation is neat. This sample isn't what I would normal pick out for myself but I am glad that I am trying it. It's pretty good without being overwhelming. I don't think I would buy it individually but am enjoying the sample. Therefore I will give it a thumbs up.

I still have Vienna Cinnamon and Orchid Vanilla to try...

Malama by Lupicia Hawaii

Smells wonderful like a nutty-chocolaty snack mix. Steeps quickly. The scent actually intensifies while steeping which is rare in bagged teas. I received this in a tea swap. I'm very excited to try it and I am just finishing the steep while I am typing this. Color is a rich brown. You can certainly taste the nutty flavor with the black tea and a hint of chocolate! FAB! Delightful Cup!

I received this tea in a tea swap from Steph...it was my First Serendipity Tea. I was VERY excited! I could smell the coconut thru the envelop! It was double bagged even! The Coconut Aroma was VERY intense! This made me a little afraid because I don't usually like coconut flavored things altho I LOVE coconut! I know - weird...but...this tea is splendid! The color is that of a pale green tea on the verge of white tea when it comes to coloring. The taste is tremendously smooth and thirst quenching even! What a wonderful surprise! Thank you Steph for sharing this great tea with me!

My father gave me this nice tin full of Harney & Sons African Autumn Tea. This is my first time with this tea. It has Red Bush, Cranberry and orange flavors blended with Orange Peel. It' fruity but not too fruity. Not highly scented. A Relaxing Tea. One Pleasant Tea, indeed.

Flowering Tea

I got a gift certificate for Christmas for a local herb store. With it I decided to buy a Glass Tea Pot like the one pictured above. The one I bought was also from Numi but it's a little different. The most important part is I can now purchase Flowering Tea and watch it bloom in this tea pot. I've always been a Tea Lover but have recently gotten into this Flowering Tea. For a little bit more info check out this video I found on YouTube. It's a different brand but you can see several different buds bloom and dance.

4 Zhena's Gypsy Tea's

Unless you are one of my family members or a real close friend you might not know that I am a HUGE Tea Fan! I love them all!!! I drink a few (or a dozen) cups a day! I love variety! Right now I am drinking from my Zhena's Gypsy Tea Sampler!
This one is The Egyptian Mint Green - Green Tea. It has Organic, Fair Trade Green Tea, Organic Peppermint, and Organic Stevia Leaf in it.

This one is the Italian Chamomile. It includes Organic, Fair Trade Chamomile, Organic Fennel, Hibiscus, Lemon Peel, Rosebuds, and Essential Oil of Lemon.
This one is the Raspberry Earl Grey Black Tea with Organic, Fair Trade Black Tea, Essential Oil of Italian Bergamot Orange.
And finally this one is the Ambrosia White Plum. This features Organic Fair Trade Indian Green Tea and White Assam Tea, Strawberry Leaf, Bulgarian Rose Petals, Stevia Leaf, Plum Extract
